TRIESTE, Oct 9 (Hina) - A two-day conference of interior ministers
of the 16 member countries of the Central European Initiative (CEI)
began in Trieste on Friday.
The central theme of the conference is the cooperation of member
countries in the fight against organised crime.
Croatia is represented at the conference by Assistant Interior
Minister Zeljko Sacic and the commissioner of Interpol's bureau in
Croatia, Mladen Vulinec.
Sacic on Friday held a speech about Croatia's experience in the
fight against organised crime, and called on all member countries
for a systematic and concrete cooperation.
Croatia is this year presiding over the conference.
The conference ends on Saturday with the adoption of a joint
declaration on organised crime, which will determine the means of
cooperation of all member countries in the fight against organised
crime, harmonising their interior legal regulations, a speedy
exchange of information, and other means of cooperation.
