SARAJEVO, Oct 9 (Hina) - A spokesman for the NATO-led peace
Stabilisation Force (SFOR) in Bosnia on Friday refuted allegations
that the Bosnian Serb army's anti-aircraft systems might be used
against NATO aircraft in case of a military intervention against
Yugoslavia.
The anti-aircraft defence systems in Republika Srpska (the Bosnian
Serb entity) and Yugoslavia are not connected as is speculated,
spokesman Glenn Chamberlaine told reporters in Sarajevo.
All anti-aircraft systems in Bosnia-Herzegovina (BH) were
deactivated in December 1995, in line with the Dayton peace
agreement's Annexe 1 A, he said.
Chamberlaine pointed out that SFOR was constantly controlling all
such systems on BH territory as part of their mission aimed at
keeping peace and security.
