CROATIAN INTERIOR MINISTER DEPARTS FOR CANADA

( Editorial: --> 7141 ) ZAGREB, Oct 9 (Hina) - Croatian Interior Minister Ivan Penic on Friday departed for Canada and the United States, said a ministerial statement. Minister Penic will meet with representatives of the Bombardier company in Montreal in an effort to speed up the supply of two new Canadair fire-fighting planes. He will also visit the Beli Textron company. The company's helicopters form part of the Croatian police force's air fleet. Penic is to discuss the possibility of obtaining helicopters equipped for night flying. In Ottawa, Minister Penic will visit the State Attorney's Office where he will discuss cooperation between Croatia and Canada with regard to preventing internationally organised crime. A visit to the Canadian Administration and Immigration Ministry will be conducted to discuss cooperation between the two countries regarding prevention of illegal migration. Penic will also meet with Croat diplomats in Canada and the United States and representatives from the Croat community, said the statement. (Hina) sp/ha 091444 MET oct 98
