ZAGREB, 8 Oct (Hina)- John Wilson, a renowned American
psychologist, expert for war traumas, visited on Thursday the
Centre for Croatian Defenders, run by the Association of the
Croatia Veterans of the Homeland War (UHDVR), in Baska Voda.
On Friday Wilson will hold a special lecture for psychiatrists and
psychologists of the Croatian Army and visit a similar centre in
Split.
Wilson teaches psychology at the Cleveland University. He is a
member of many international medical associations and one of the
pioneers in the research of post-traumatic stress disorder.
When introducing the guest from the USA, deputy president of UHVDR,
Herman Vukusic said that Dr. Wilson, who has visited Croatia
several times, had been elected by the Centre for Croatian
Defenders as its International Council president.
Speaking about the election, Vukusic described it as a great
honour, but also as very helpful as it will present Croatian
experiences abroad and enable Croatia to adopt more international
methods in psychological and social care.
