SARAJEVO, Sept 29 (Hina) - Italy is to introduce entry visas for
Bosnian citizens from January 1 next year, the Bosnian Foreign
Ministry announced on Tuesday.
Italy's Ambassador to Bosnia Michelle Valensise officially
informed Assistant Bosnian Foreign Minister Fuad Sabeta that Italy
from the start of next year would on the basis of the Schengen
Agreement harmonise its visa regime with other signatory
countries. This automatically meant that Bosnian citizens would
need entry visas.
Through the verbal note given to Sarajevo, Italy has put on notice
that it will prepare its embassy in Bosnia to issue visas by the set
deadline.
Until today Italy has been the only European Union member-country
in which Bosnian citizens could enter for tourist reasons without a
visa.
