DUBROVNIK, Sept 18 (Hina) - Former British Prime Minister Margaret
Thatcher on Friday visited the southern Dubrovnik area, as part of
her five-day stay in Croatia.
After meeting displaced persons and refugees at Cilipi airport,
Baroness Thatcher visited the Church of Holy Salvation in
Vitaljina.
During the afternoon, Thatcher visited the historical part of
Dubrovnik, and met with the Croatian government's commissioner for
Dubrovnik-Neretva County Luka Siljeg and Dubrovnik Mayor Vid
Bogdanovic.
According to Siljeg, Thatcher was especially interested in the
reconstruction of war-damaged areas in the county, as well as in the
economic and political situation in southern-most Croatia.
The Baroness is to depart Dubrovnik tomorrow afternoon.
