PRISTINA, Sept 11 (Hina) - The Kosovo Albanian leader Ibrahim
Rugova has accused the regime in Belgrade of continuing the
offensive on Albanian villages in western Kosovo and the area of
Drenica.
At a press conference held in Pristina on Friday, Rugova pointed to
the dramatic humanitarian situation in Kosovo and the problem of
40,000 Albanian refugees, most of whom are hiding in woods in
western Kosovo.
The aim of the Serbian offensive is an ethnically clean Kosovo,
Rugova said calling on the international community, particularly
the United States and European Union, to increase pressure on
Belgrade so that the offensive is stopped.
