ZAGREB, Sept 9 (Hina) - The main party bodies of the governing
Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) will meet in the autumn to discuss
the most current political issues, HDZ spokesman Drago Krpina said
on Wednesday.
"These are no special sessions which would indicate the beginning
of a pre-electoral campaign," Krpina told Hina.
Some of the strongest opposition parties have been publicly wanting
a premature election since the start of this year, but HDZ officials
publicly refute any such possibility due to the absence of any valid
reasons, he said.
"It is certain however, that we will also discuss the most actual
political subjects, but we still haven't gone into details," Krpina
said.
He announced the HDZ's national and main committees would appoint
courts of honour and rule-books on the establishment of specialised
associations within the party.
Krpina refuted a media report which stated that some 30 high ranking
party officials had already submitted papers to the party
president, who should make a final review.
"There are no papers of any sort at the moment on the president's
table for (him) to review. Or censor," Krpina said.
Consultations on political topics to be discussed at the autumn
session are still in progress, he said, but added the accent would
be on the programme declaration adopted at a party convention
earlier this year.
