PRISTINA, Sept 5 (Hina) - The Kosovo Information Centre on Saturday
reported that Serbian forces overnight continued shelling three
villages in the Drenica region, with the situation most critical in
Pluzina and Tice where residents were unable to be evacuated.
The same Kosovo Albanian source said that apart from these villages
in the Srbica municipality, including Acarjevo, there were a total
of 15,000 Albanian refugees encircled by Serbian forces in the
village of Ponorce near Malisevo.
The KIC warned of the overwhelmingly difficult humanitarian
situation in virtually all places where Albanian refugees were
located.
It said the situation was most serious in the valley near the
village of Pagarusa, where a total of 40,000 Albanian refugees were
living under open skies. About 2,000 Albanian refugees are located
in similar conditions in the Barana area near Pec.
