SPLIT, Sept 2 (Hina) - Split and Sinj police have seized 270
marijuana plants in Lucani near the southern inland town of Sinj,
which could have produced more than 30kg of the illegal drug.
Split-Dalmatia County police on Wednesday said criminal
proceedings were underway against the growers of the plants.
Charges have been laid against N.R. (29) and A.V. (39) and they will
be presented today to an investigative judge at the Split County
Court.
Also found at the site was 70g of dried marijuana.
The plants were found growing in several places, but the accused did
not work together even though they have been recorded as drug
users.
Police also reported that on August 21 they arrested Split
residents Z.M. (19) and M.T. (19) for possessing 304g of
marijuana.
They have been charged for organising the sale of illegal drugs.
