ZAGREB, 31 Aug (Hina) - The Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Monday received a delegation of Siemens AG, including its president
and a management member, Heinrich von Pierer and Eduard Uhl
respectively, and Mirko Barisic, president of the Siemens Croatia
Ltd management.
The two sides expressed satisfaction with the company's
investments and joint projects in Croatia as well as readiness for
domestic companies to widen their cooperation with Siemens.
The activities of the leading world electronics concern cover the
areas of electronics and electrical engineering,
telecommunications, computer applications, power production,
traffic, medicine and industry.
The concern has registered the best results in the area of
automation and driving engines, passive components, car technology
and public telecommunication networks.
The overall income of Siemens Croatia Ltd in 1997 amounted to about
DM 200 million, of which 80 million were realised through the
company's own production.
In Croatia Siemens has 1,000 employees and three branches - Siemens
Ltd, Siemens Transformers and Siemens Nixdorf.
