ZAGREB, Aug 24 (Hina) - The Council for Defence and National
Security (VONS) on Monday held a session on current questions under
the chairmanship of Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, the
President's office said in a statement.
The session stressed the responsibility of state officials for as
effective cooperation as possible with international
organisations and representative bodies, in line with signed
agreements and with the aim of intensifying the good and
constructive relations while protecting national and state
interests.
Members of the VONS were also informed about the general situation
in the Croatian banking system and models of solving the existing
problems.
The session strongly condemned international terrorism.
Croatia is a safe country and it regularly takes all necessary
measures for detecting and preventing possible terrorist threats,
the statement said.
