DEMOCRATIC UNION OF KOSOVO APPEALS ON INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY

( Editorial: --> 3854 ) PRISTINA, Aug 15 (Hina) - The Democratic Union of Kosovo (DSK) on Saturday called on the international community, led by the USA, United National, NATO and UN Security Council, to undertake urgent measures to stop Serbian offensives in the municipalities if Peci and Decani, and to force the Serbian military and police to withdraw from Kosovo. The DSK said strong Serbian forces have been heavily attacking several Albanian villages in Peci and Decani municipalities. The consequences of this barbarian attack, if not ceased immediately, could have catastrophic proportions for the residents of the area, as well as the large number of refugees from other areas of Kosovo that are accommodated in these two municipalities, the DSK said. It is indicative that the regime in Belgrade, instead of ceasing attacks after the formation of an Albanian negotiation team, is intensifying assaults, creating an even worse situation in the region. It is time about time for the international community to resolutely exert pressure on Belgrade if it wants the issue of Kosovo solved, the DSK said in his appeal. The Kosovo Information Centre reported Saturday that Serbian forces had set ablaze villages if Duhle and Blace near Suva Reka and these two villages have been turned into ruins.
