DUBROVNIK, Aug 10 (Hina) - After visiting the islands of Lastovo and
Korcula and the southern region of Konavle earlier in the day,
Croatian Parliament President Vlatko Pavletic visited the fire-
ravaged areas of the Peljesac peninsula on Monday afternoon.
Accompanied by the government appointed Dubrovnik-Neretva County
commissioner Luka Siljeg and Orebic municipal head Damir Batistic,
Pavletic visited the settlements of Kuciste and Viganj.
Croatia will help the fire-ravaged areas, especially those
families from Peljesac who lost their houses in the fire, Pavletic
said.
The Parliament President commended all those who participated in
putting the fires in southern Croatia under control.
"We have to draw conclusions from these events and a thorough
investigation has to be conducted so that the causes can be
established and wrong presumptions avoided," Pavletic said.
