KOSOVO ALBANIAN FORCES SEIZE PART OF VITAL COALMINE

( Editorial: --> 3248 ) PRISTINA, June 24 (Hina) - The Presidency of the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo on Tuesday warned that the Serbian aggression on Kosovo has created a dramatic situation with incalculable consequences. Leaders of the Democratic Alliance called on the international community to undertake urgent measures to prevent a catastrophe because of the Serbian aggression, and warns of the practice of collectively punishing the Albanian population, for example, cutting off electricity supply to whole parts of Kosovo. That is happening in Podujeva, Golaka and other places. There was also no electricity in the greater part of Pristina yesterday. The Alliance presidency assessed that the aim of the punishment campaign is further escalation of violence and terror against Albanians in Kosovo. The presidency warned of the possibility of Serbia destroying the Kosovo electric utility, which would paralyse the work of hospitals and water drainage systems and threaten the existence of the Albanian population. According to the Pristina Albanian-language daily, Koha Ditore, the Liberation Army of Kosovo yesterday took control of a few villages near Pristina and took over part of the coalmine in Belaguevac, which supplies the thermo-electric utility.
