LONDON, June 16 (Hina) - In London on Monday evening the British-
Croatian Chamber of Commerce was founded with the main objective of
advancing economic cooperation between British and Croatian export
companies.
The chamber, initiated by the Croatian Ambassador to Great Britain
Andrija Kojakovic, has a membership of 74 British and Croatian
firms, and its co-presidents will be businessmen John Rourke and
Ivusa Domijan.
John Rourke said that the chamber apart from offering services to
members, will organise seminars on business and investment in
Croatia, and will endeavour to sponsor two to three Croatian
students annually, who would in the Great Britain familiarise
themselves with London's financial market.
The Croatian Economy Minister Nenad Porges, who is currently on a
working visit in Great Britain, said that Great Britain's share in
the Croatian trade exchange is only two per cent, which is below
realistic possibilities.
The chamber could serve as a foundation for increasing this
exchange, Porges said.
The British Ambassador to Croatia Colin Munro said the foundation
of the chamber sparks the idea for a Croatian-British chamber of
commerce to be established in Zagreb.
