TRAVNIK, June 12 (Hina) - A Bosnian Croat policeman was killed and
his Muslim colleague was wounded in a car bomb explosion in the
village of Lovrici near Travnik on Friday morning.
Both men were members of the joint canton police and were not on duty
at the time of the attack.
The cantonal government held an emergency meeting on Friday
afternoon to discuss this grave incident.
"This is another act of political terrorism directed against
Croats," Deputy Canton Minister of the Interior, Fabijan Trbara,
told reporters.
He stressed that the attacker could not have known that his victim
would be accompanied by a Muslim.
"We are appalled at this terrorist act which we view as a
continuation of previous terrorist activities with a political
background and clearly defined goals," Canton Prime Minister Mirko
Batinic told reporters.
"Such incidents send a clear message that there can be no
coexistence in this area - the goal is to stop the return of Croats
and obstruct the building of a Dayton-based Bosnia."
