SARAJEVO, May 13 (Hina) - Special envoys of the United States
President Richard Holbrooke and Robert Gelbard will make an
unannounced visit to Sarajevo today, the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo
said in a statement Wednesday.
Holbrooke and Gelbard will meet Bosnian Presidency chairman Alija
Izetbegovic and Presidency member Kresimir Zubak to discuss the
implementation of the Dayton peace agreement.
In the afternoon, the two U.S. envoys will fly to Banja Luka for
talks with Bosnian Serb entity officials.
Today's visit comes in the wake of special letters President Bill
Clinton forwarded to Izetbegovic and Zubak late last week. The U.S.
President demanded that the two Bosnian officials step up the
peace-keeping process and eliminate the existing obstacles to its
implementation.
