ZAGREB, May 28 (Hina) - The Croatian Government on Thursday tabled
several bills for parliamentary procedure and passed a decision to
publish the Council of Europe Statute in Croatian.
By joining the Council of Europe in 1996, Croatia has accepted the
obligation to translate the CE Statute from English and French and
publish it in the Croatian language, said Foreign Affairs Minister
Mate Granic.
The Government passed a bill of amendments to the Anti-Monopoly Act
(second reading), as well as amendments to the Internal Affairs Act
(emergency procedure), which eliminates the investors' obligation
to build shelters in office and apartment buildings.
The Government also decided on a programme for the rehabilitation
of the Rijeka-based Richard Bencic metals factory.
The rehabilitation would be financed partly from budget reserves
(about 13 million kuna), and partly from Trade Ministry funds (5.7
million kuna). The Ministry funds would be used for severance to
redundant workers.
