BUDAPEST, May 26 (Hina) - Croatian Homeland Foundation president
Ante Beljo on Tuesday visited Budapest where he was received by
Hungarian World Alliance president Sandor Csoori and his
associates.
The two officials discussed concrete cooperation between the two
organisations which are in charge of their respective diaspora.
It was agreed that an agreement on bilateral cooperation will be
signed at the start of next month in the eastern Croatian city of
Osijek.
It was concluded the two institutions have very similar tasks,
given that Hungarians, like Croats, have a very large diaspora and
that those emigrants actually live in the same parts of the world.
This is the reason why these two organisations should cooperate,
and - according to need - jointly lobby for certain interests.
The main task of the Hungarian World Alliance is linking about 5.5
million Hungarians outside of Hungary.
Beljo said that it was necessary to expand this cooperation to the
area of minorities, given that the Croatian minority in Hungary and
the Hungarian minority in Croatia had adapted very well in the
countries where they lived and were a significant factor in the
linking of these two organisations.
