Commenting on the forthcoming conference, which will focus on "Tourism in the Headlines", Croatian Tourism Minister Damir Bajs said on Monday that it would certainly contribute to the promotion of the country and its tourist sector in international media.
According to him, the purpose of the conference is to improve the presentation of tourism in headlines and in breaking news as well as to upgrade the media coverage of tourism as an important sector for viable economic growth.
Among the lecturers at the conference will be media pundits, reporters and correspondents of world-known media companies, including CNN, Time and The Guardian.
Croatia has been a member of the UNWTO since 1993, and in recent years Zagreb has intensified communication and cooperation with that UN agency in several areas.
