ZAGREB, Apr 21 (Hina) - The Croatian President's Chief Of Staff
Hrvoje Sarinic Tuesday received the UN under-secretary for peace-
keeping operations Bernard Miyet and the head of the support group
and the UN liaison office in Zagreb Souren Seraydarian.
According to a statement from the Croatian President's Office,
talks focused on the situation in the Danube river region of eastern
Croatia.
Miyet assessed the UN support group's cooperation with local police
as very successful. He also outlined plans on the termination of the
group's mandate.
Sarinic gave the high UN officials a detailed account on actual
issues and problems encountered in the return of refugees,
displaced persons and persons who left Croatia.
The talks also focused on the activities of the UN Mission of
Observers in Prevlaka, which ends July 15 this year, and ways of
resolving this issue in the near future. Prevlaka is a tip in
southern Croatia bordering with Montenegro.
Also present at today's talks was the Croatian President's advisor
for foreign affairs, Neven Madey.
