SARAJEVO, April 14 (Hina) - The German Defence Minister Volker
Ruehe on Tuesday said he firmly believed that all those against whom
the Hague Tribunal had issued indictments for war crimes committed
in the former Yugoslavia would be brought to justice and be tried.
Ruehe said this during today's visit to the German Stabilisation
Force (SFOR) soldiers in Rajlovac outside Sarajevo.
"I don't doubt that those persons will all end up before the
international war crimes tribunal either of their own accord or in
some other way," Ruehe said.
Asked whether German soldiers would participate in the possible
arrest of the most wanted indictee - Radovan Karadzic, Ruehe said
that like all other SFOR soldiers, German soldiers, too, would act
in line with their mandate in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Ruehe and president of the government of the German federal
province Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Berndt Seite, held talks behind
closed doors with the commander of the German SFOR contingent,
General Jan-Jorg Oerding and General Stephen Kretschmer, commander
of the German-French SFOR brigade.
After the visit, Ruehe left for Banja Luka for talks with Republika
Srpska President Biljana Plavsic.
