AMNESTY RESOLUTION IS NOT RELATED TO WAR CRIMES - JUSTICE MINISTER

( Editorial: --> 2897 ) VINKOVCI, March 27 (Hina) - Justice Minister Miroslav Separovic held talks on Friday with heads of the Vukovar-Srijem County on the consistent implementation of the Amnesty Act and application and implementation of the Law Adjustment Act. After the meeting, Separovic said that it had been agreed that the Vukovar land registry, which is located in Vinkovci, would work in two shifts from April 2 to deal with an increased number of applicants. Answering questions by reporters on whether a civil lawsuit by a citizen could overturn an amnesty ruling, Separovic said that if strong evidence was subsequently discovered that someone committed war crimes, proceedings could be undertaken at the court's discretion. "Amnesty rulings relating to armed rebellion, serving in an enemy army and other offences tied to war and aggression do not apply to war crimes," the Justice Minister said. "I once again repeat there is no list of war criminals. There is a known list of 25 people, who have been sentenced in absentia and the sentences confirmed by higher instances. They are people who committed criminal offences in Croatia and who reside in Croatian state territory. "This list does not include people who are not Croatian citizens, who are citizens of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) or reside in the FRY like Goran Hadzic and others," Separovic said.
