ZAGREB, Mar 18 (Hina) - Activists of the Republic Trade Union of
Employees of the Croatian Post and Telecommunications (HPT)
Wednesday distributed to parliament representatives and
government officials leaflets containing demands related to the
passing of a law on the HPT.
Several representatives of the Independent Tenants Union also
gathered in front of the Croatian National Parliament building just
before the start of a House of Representatives session.
The HPT union demands that before passing the law on the HPT,
parliament representatives adopt the union's suggestions for
drafting the law. The union believes the present bill imperils the
social security of HPT employees.
The Independent Tenants Union demands that former tenancy rights
holders be also granted the right to purchase flats and nominal
owners be given compensation based on the Constitution and the
law.
