PRISTINA, March 16 (Hina) - Kosovo Albanians on Monday continued
their protests against the Serbian violence in the area of Drenica
and for a peaceful solution of the Kosovo crisis.
Several thousand women set out on foot around 9am today from the
Pristina suburb of Dragodane towards the area of Drenica, where the
Serbian police killed at least 80 Albanians in the past two weeks.
Expressing solidarity with the people of Drenica, participants in
the protest carried bread, to be given to children and women in
Drenica.
Demonstrators also carried placards in English and Albanian
saying: 'Europe, stop the terror in Kosovo', 'Stop ethnocide' 'Stop
the violence' and 'Drenica, we are with you'.
"Children and women, including pregnant women and ill and old
people, were killed in Drenica. Terror and ethnic cleansing
continue. Not one door of hope has been opened so far," said the
organisers of the protest, the Circle of Albanian Women and the
Forum of Albanian Women of Kosovo.
