ANKARA, March 13 (Hina) - Turkish President Suleyman Demirel on
Friday received Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic, who is on an
official visit to Ankara with his associates since Thursday.
The main topic of the meeting was a visit by the Croatian President
Franjo Tudjman to Turkey, which is expected in the second half of
this year.
The two officials also discussed the current political situation on
the territory of former Yugoslavia, especially in Bosnia-
Herzegovina, and Turkey's future role in strengthening peace and
stability in the wider region of South-East Europe.
Granic also held talks with the Turkish Parliament Speaker Hikmet
Cetin and Vice Premier Bulent Ecevit, who is standing in for Premier
Mesut Yilmaz, currently on a visit to Georgia.
