RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR VISITS RIJEKA

( Editorial: --> 4753 ) RIJEKA, Feb 26 (Hina) - Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Prefect Milivoj Brozina and Rijeka Mayor Slavko Linic held separate meetings on Thursday with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Croatia, Meceslav Ivanovic Senkevic. The main topics discussed at the meetings were the re-establishment of old economic relations and the establishment of new ones, especially in the shipbuilding industry. The two sides agreed that the real potential lay in the exploitation and transport of gas and oil, as well as in trade and tourism. The Russian ambassador proposed that Rijeka and some of the towns in the Russian Federation become twin-towns, and that the two countries start exchanging journalists.
