SARAJEVO, Feb 20 (Hina) - Two houses were burned down on Thursday
night in Drvar, western Bosnia-Herzegovina. From the beginning of
this month, in this area at least 12 residences have been destroyed,
announced UN spokesman in Sarajevo Alexander Ivanko on Friday.
According to his evaluation, the situation in Drvar is becoming a
"very serious problem". These incidents are aimed at preventing the
return of the Serb population, he added.
We expect the local police to tackle this problem more seriously,
said Ivanko, emphasising that following last night's fire 10 more
police have been stationed at the place of the incident joined by
six members of the international police force (IPTF).
