ZAGREB, Feb 7 (Hina) - The 180-member Club of Young Returnees,
founded in December 1997, was opened in Ilica Street 11 in Zagreb
Saturday, in the organisation of the Croatian International Youth
Assembly.
According to Nedjeljko Spilek, president of the assembly, the club
will be a gathering place for young returnees.
The aim is to bring in new members, and to that effect similar clubs
will be opened in other towns with many returnees, said Spilek.
The club was opened by Croatian Return and Immigration Minister
Josip Juras, who said his ministry was behind returnees, especially
young ones.
The Croatian International Youth Assembly was established in
Toronto in 1991 and is the first organisation of Croatian emigrants
to have transferred its seat to Croatia, thus becoming the first
returnee organisation.
