VINKOVCI, 29 Jan (Hina) - A man informed police in Vinkovci on
Wednesday that he had left in the eastern Croatian town's post
office two hand grenades he wanted to get rid of.
Police immediately evacuated the post office and went on a search
for the grenades - and in this quest, via telephone directions, they
were helped by the unknown caller!
The police officers found the weapons in a shelf on a counter for
filling in forms. Two plastic bags contained two hand grenades and
four bullet clips, which were not connected to any explosives
device.
Vinkovci police said the man who left the arms obviously did not
want to harm anyone, but wanted to dispose some illegal weaponry,
however he chose a very poor way of doing this.
