ZAGREB, Jan 23 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic on
Friday received the outgoing, former UN transitional administrator
for eastern Croatia, William Walker.
According to a statement by the Croatian Foreign Affairs Ministry,
Walker expressed great satisfaction with the successful
cooperation with the Croatian Government in the completion of the
UNTAES mandate.
Granic reconfirmed the Croatian Government's determination to
establish an equal and democratic organisation of authority in all
parts of Croatia.
Walker pointed out the significance of statements made by the
Croatian President Franjo Tudjman at the recognition-giving
ceremony for those who had taken part in the reintegration process.
These statements were positively received by the international
public, he said.
Foreign Minister Granic thanked Walker for his dedicated work and
understanding.
