BRCKO, Jan 3 (Hina) - A multi-ethnic police force began operating
under international supervision in the Serb-controlled northern
Bosnian town of Brcko on Saturday.
The police force consists of 120 Serbs, 90 Moslems and 20 Croats.
At a ceremony outside police headquarters, International Police
Task Force (IPTF) commissioner Manfred Seitner handed Brcko police
chief Teodor Gavric keys to 22 police vehicles, five computers and
other equipment worth about $250,000.
The ceremony was attended by the IPTF commander in Brcko, Don Grady,
representatives of local multiethnic authorities, and the
international supervisor of Brcko, Robert William Farrand.
