to all who during the difficult moments of illness and struggle for life of our husband, father and grandfather Franjo Tudjman, wished him a speedy recovery. "In the most difficult and painful moments for all of us, at the time of death, the fare-well ceremony and the funeral, the family and each one of us received thousands of telegrams and letters conveying deep grief over the loss of the first President of the Republic of Croatia and sympathy to the family. President.
"We express our deep gratitude to all who during the difficult
moments of illness and struggle for life of our husband, father and
grandfather Franjo Tudjman, wished him a speedy recovery.
"In the most difficult and painful moments for all of us, at the time
of death, the fare-well ceremony and the funeral, the family and
each one of us received thousands of telegrams and letters
conveying deep grief over the loss of the first President of the
Republic of Croatia and sympathy to the family.
"As we are not able to thank you personally, we want in this way to
express our gratitude for the offered sympathy and help to all
friends, acquaintances, admirers, and all Croatian citizens in the
Homeland and abroad, as well as to the Croatian National Sabor,
Government, officials with the President's Office, church
dignitaries, parish priests and nuns, the bodies of state
authority, counties, towns and municipalities, the City of Zagreb,
representatives and members of political parties, associations,
and companies.
"We owe special gratitude to all who bade farewell to our dear
husband, father and grandfather from the Dubrava hospital to the
Presidential Palace, all who during three nights and days paid
their last respects at the Presidential Palace, as well as to all
who attended the funeral at the Mirogoj cemetery," said the message
by the late President Tudjman's family - wife Ankica, sons Miroslav
and Stjepan with their families, and daughter Nevenka with her
sons.
