festival.

The selection of the best films, which compete for the gold, silver,
and bronze world medals, will take place in New York on 21 January
2000.
The nominated films have been selected among 1,214 sent in from 43
countries from around the globe.
"Marco Polo's Historic Battle" is about the life of the world's
first voyager and his participation in the biggest and most brutal
battle on sea between Venice and Genoa which took place by the
shores of southern Croatian island Korcula on 7 September 1298.
The film, produced by Croatian Radio/Television, was almost three
years in the making, featuring footage from archives, museums,
Korcula, Venice, and Genoa.
