ZAGREB, Dec 20 (Hina) - Croatia is entering a period in which the most important goal will no longer be the survival of the state but securing welfare for all citizens, Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic said in Zagreb on Monday.
Diplomacy will again play an important role in securing better living conditions for Croatian citizens, Granic said, speaking at the presentation of the "Croatian Medieval Diplomacy" publication. "We guarantee that the election will be free and fair so that the new president and government could speed up the process of (Croatia's) true economic and political integration in Europe," Granic said, expressing belief the European Union and NATO would open their doors to Croatia after its parliamentary and presidential elections.
