ZAGREB, Dec 16 (Hina) - The Government Office for Associations has so far spent 28 (DM7 million) out of 45 million kuna it was given for 1999 for the financing of 276 programmes of different associations. The Days of Associations, an
event to be held at the Zagreb Fair on December 17-19, will present the Office's one-year work, the Office's head Cvjetana Plavsa Matic told reporters on Thursday. In the course of 1999, the Office worked on redefining the legal and tax framework for the operation of associations, and organised one national and four regional seminars on the development of civil society in Croatia, Plavsa Matic said, adding the Office also released a CD-ROM with the basic information about 15,365 associations.(hina) rml
