Department statement on the death of Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, issued on Saturday. The statement, issued by State Department Deputy Spokesman James Foley, reads that President Tudjman led Croatia's delegation in Dayton and signed the peace accords which brought the war in Bosnia to an end. Foley extended condolences on behalf of the US Government to the family of President Tudjman and the Government and the people of Croatia. The United States expresses full support for the continuation of the democratic development in Croatia at a time Croatia is preparing for the upcoming parliamentary, and now also the presidential elections, Foley said.(hina) mm rml
