TUDJMAN'S IDEALS ARE INEXHAUSTIBLE SOURCE FOR FURTHER WORK:KRPINA

ZAGREB, Dec 11 (Hina) - During the past ten years President Tudjman has left a deep trail in the overall Croatian history, certainly more than any other individual, ruling Croatian Democratic Union party (HDZ) secretary-general Drago Krpina said early Saturday morning. Croatian President and president of the HDZ, Franjo Tudjman, died during the night between December 10 and 11, 1999 in Croatia's Dubrava hospital. Krpina stressed that the example of President Tudjman showed the importance of the influence of an individual in historic occurrences. "Based on the foundations which he consolidated I am sure that all of us who will continue his political work will be able to firm and shape a Croatia as he wished it to be," he said. Krpina stressed that the ten years he had worked with President Tudjman during the times of creating the independent Croatian state had for him been an enormous and unique privilege. "We can best express our gratitude for everything President Tudjman had done for the Croatian people if we all perform our duties and tasks for the general well-being, so that the Croatian people and state be for everybody before anything else, as they had been for President Tudjman. The ideals which led us during the past ten years of work with President Tudjman will remain an inexhaustible source for our work for Croatia and the Croatian people," Krpina said. (hina) lml
