ZAGREB, Nov 26 (Hina) - Director of the Croatian State Administration for the Protection of the Environment, Ante Kutle, will sign a new international protocol on environment protection on behalf of the Croatian Government in
Goeteborg on November 30. The protocol envisages a fight against the pollution of the earth, air and water, the State Administration said in a statement Friday. The protocol has been drawn up with the aim of stopping the excessive acidifying of the earth, that is, excessive synthesis of organic matter in water, which is the cause of algal bloom of seas and lakes, as well as the pollution of the ozone layer. The protocol is a part of a 1979 convention on long-term consequences of trans-border pollution of the air which Croatia signed in autumn of 1991.(hina) lml mm
