PULA, Nov 8 (Hina) - A concession for the introduction of a gas-supply system in Istra County has been granted to Zagreb-based company "Montmontaza" and its two Italian partners, Milan-based "Italcogin" and Rome-based Butangas",
prefect Stevo Zufic told reporters in Pula on Monday. The concession, worth DM96 million, will provide all towns with gas-supply by 2005, the prefect said. Three bids came from abroad, Zufic said, but pointed out "Montmontaza's" was the most favourable, with a one percent concession remuneration for the first 15 years, and two percent for the next 15 years. "Strategically, this is an important project for Istra, because it is based on a new power source which is cheaper than others and ecologically the most acceptable. It will help us settle Istra's power system and ensure its future development in every segment," the prefect said.(hina) ha mm
