ZAGREB, Oct 22 (Hina) - The ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) on Friday failed to adopt a motion, in its entirety, made by six parties of the Croatian Opposition to establish a Croatian National Sabor's committee for monitoring
electronic media until the upcoming elections. HDZ representatives informed the Opposition they did not agree with the fact that the committee was authorised to take punitive measures if irregularities were determined during the campaign. HDZ negotiator Vladimir Seks requested from the coordinator of the 'Opposition Six' to inform him of a decision of the Opposition on Monday. Earlier this week the 'Opposition Six' proposed to the HDZ that a parliamentary committee for monitoring electronic media starting with the day of announcing the election date, be established. This was the condition of the Opposition Six for the continuation of negotiations on electoral legis
