THE HAGUE, Oct 21 (Hina) - The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) on Thursday announced final statements to be made in the "Kupreskici" case for November 9. Final statements by the defence and
prosecution, which should last three days, will mark the end of the trial began on August 17, 1998. The indictment charged Zoran Kupreskic and his brother Mirjan, Drago Josipovic, Dragan Papic, Vladimir Santic and Vlatko Kupreskic of having taken part as part of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) in the Lasva Valley during conflicts between Croats and Bosniaks in 1993, in systematic attacks on villages in the Lasva Valley, where Bosnian Moslems resided. They have been charged with taking part in the persecution of Moslems in Ahmici and Santici, as well as in mass murder in Ahmici on April 16, 1993. Most of them are accused of individual murders.
