GOSPIC/DELNICE, Oct 20 (Hina) - This year's first snow started falling during Tuesday night and morning in the mountainous areas in central Croatia. After a few sunny but frosty days, the hilly regions of Lika and Gorski Kotar today
dawned under a blanket of snow. Fifteen centimetres of snow covered the summit of Zavizan on Velebit mountain, where the temperature dropped to minus five Celsius. There have been no difficulties in traffic so far, but snow equipment is required in the hilly areas. Two accidents happened in Lika due to slush on roads, but no one was injured. In Gorski Kotar, snow is carried by heavy winds, but has so far not frozen on the roads.(hina) ha jn
