MOSTAR TV STATION 'EROTEL' REJECTS SFOR'S APOLOGY

MOSTAR, Oct 15 (Hina) - The management and staff of Croatian television station Erotel from Mostar did not accept the apology of NATO's peace-keeping Stabilisation Force (SFOR) for Thursday's break-in into Erotel's premises. Erotel holds the Office of the High Representative responsible for this humiliating and impolite act, the station said in a statement on Friday. The search of the premises without witnesses, which took one hour, is not a normal procedure in the world which can be justified with an apology, the statement said, adding the SFOR had seized two computers, a cell phone, and personal satellite cards without either minutes or witnesses. The SFOR held captive the station's reporters and staff who had recently welcomed SFOR's chief commander in Bosnia, a polite and dear guest, the statement said. The station claimed that to search for weapons and explosive among reporters was a cynical and completely wrong apology. In statement released today, the SFOR made no mention of returning the station's property, but spoke about video material. The staff and director of Erotel Branko Colak said no video material had been seized, and urged the SFOR to not deceive the Bosnian public in this regard. (hina) ha jn
