PULA, Oct 9 (Hina) - An Istrian Democratic Union (IDS) leader, Damir
Kajin, on Saturday commented yesterday's property rights agreement
which Croatia and Slovenia signed in Ljubljana.
Istria and Primorje-Gorski Kotar Counties will derive greatest
profit from yesterday's deal between Croatia and Slovenia, as
aforementioned counties as well as Croatia will receive again 10
million German marks annually, by re-opening Slovene seaside
resort centres (in Croatia), the IDS Vice-President told a news
conference in Pula.
According to Kajin's estimates, "since 1993, when a moratorium was
put on the usage of Slovene resort facilities in Croatia, 60 million
marks have been lost."
Kajin believes that a Croatian-Slovene cross-border traffic and
trade agreement, which was already ratified by the national Sabor
in Zagreb and is to be considered by one of coming sessions of the
parliament in Ljubljana, does not offer significant solutions to
problems of bordering zones of the two countries, but it only
regulates crossings of tourists from one country into the other.
