VIENNA, Sept 29 (Hina) - Croatia supports the active role of the International Agency for Atomic Energy (IAEA) in utilising and promoting nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, Mario Nobilo, Ambassador at the Croatian Mission in the
U.N. and international organisations in Vienna, said on Tuesday. Nobilo was speaking at the plenary session of IAEA's regular annual conference. Croatia also supports the initiative on training young people for applying nuclear technologies, he added. Since 1992, when it became a member of the IAEA, Croatia has developed and implemented numerous projects of technical cooperation in the country as well as an IAEA member in providing technical assistance to the third countries, Nobilo said, adding he hoped the very good cooperation with the IAEA technical cooperation programme would continue and improve. conference about preparations for a conference entitled "Atomic
Energy Option in Countries with Small and Medium-Sized Power
Production Systems", to be held in Dubrovnik between June 19 and 22,
2000.
