"The Golden Anchor award, which is the only award of the Israeli
festival, has great value because I received it in Israel, the
country of an exceptional film culture and tradition, which has
many outstanding directors. I am also very pleased that Vincent has
been awarded as well because it is his film "The Carnival" that I
liked best among the 14 films competing for the award and it is a
genuine small masterpiece", Ogresta told Hina over the phone.
The Haifa film festival took place between September 23 and 28, and
Ogresta's film was shown on September 27, as the last one in the
official competition.
According to Ogresta, following the Zagreb premiere on October 13,
"Crvena prasina" will be shown at film festivals in Houston, Rome,
and Ljubljana during November. The film is then to be presented in
Oslo, and, probably, at Belgrade's film festival "Fest".
"Given that Yugoslav films are being shown in our cinemas it is time
for our film to go to Belgrade", said Ogresta.
The Golden Anchor is the fourth international first prize Ogresta
has won for his movies. Between 1996 and 1998, Ogresta won three
first prizes for his film "Isprani (Washed Out)" - at festivals in
Naples, Budapest, and Rome. For his short film "Zabranjena igracka
(Forbidden Toy)" he won a Grand Prix in Madrid in 1987.
