ZAGREB, Sept 23 (Hina) - The Swedish-Norwegian consortium Telia-Telenor offered a US$611 million bid for 35 per cent of stock of the Croatian Telecommunications (HT) company. Germany's Deutsche Telecom made no bids, so the contest
continues with only one bidder, chairman of the Commission for the Privatisation of the HT, Ivan Mijatovic, said Thursday. The Government will hold a session Thursday to discuss whether the Telia-Telenor bid would be accepted or not, in accordance with the rules of bidding, Mijatovic said. The only criterion for accepting a bid is the highest offered fixed price and accepting criteria posed by the Croatian Government to bidders on September 17. Present at the offering of bids were Croatian Finance Minister Borislav Skegro, representatives of Telia-Telenor and the ambassadors of Sweden and Norway to Croatia.(hina) lml
