TELIA-TELENOR OFFICIALS COMMENT ON OFFER TO BUY HT SHARES

ZAGREB, Sept 3 (Hina) - In the event it becomes the owner of 35 per cent of shares of Croatia Telecommunications (HT), the main goal of the Scandinavian telecommunication consortium Telia-Telenor will be to further develop all services, from immobile and mobile phone services to the Internet. This will make the HT a very modern and competitive company in the international market, Hans Golteus, Vice-President of Telia-Telenor for international operations, said following talks with Croatian government and HT officials. The Croatian Government will decide about the selection of the strategic investor by the end of September. Golteus said becoming the strategic investor in the HT would for his company mean taking an important market position in this part of Europe, and for Croatia it would mean being placed in the centre of international telecommunication market.
